Bio
Jennifer Barbaro is an award winning filmmaker, photographer, and artist, and a founding member of Exposed Elements Pop Up Art Movement. Originally from Philadelphia, she received her MFA from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Jennifer has produced and directed films, including “In Search of You,” winner of the Samuel Z Arkoff Award, shot by Academy Award winning DP, Shana Hagan, and Lena: Journey of a Woman, filmed on location in Vietnam. Jennifer is currently in post production on her documentary, “The Perfect Match.”
Jennifer’s music video credits include; Uncle Kracker (Warner/Atlantic NYC), Danielle Groff (Sony/BMG Italy), J’anna and Christopher (Viva Germany), and Haley (Toil Records Philadelphia). Jennifer has also produced/directed several commercial spots, including PSAs for Los Angeles City, and a spec for Doritos and Miller Lite. Jennifer was named Best Director/Music Video at First Glance Film Festival, Philadelphia and has screened at The Franklin Institute, and The Hiway Theatre as Best of The Fest.
Jennifer is CEO and Founder of Los Angeles based HBNB Productions, Inc. (Creative Marketing), managing national accounts, and creating and executing high impact events for clients such as Heineken, Heineken Light, Juanitas Foods, Starbucks Chill Tour, MBNA Athletic Credit Division, Pinky Vodka, RIA Financial, and Infinium Spirits (Crystal Head-Dan Aykroyd’s Vodka). Jennifer is the producer of the Los Angeles based and sponsored, HBNB Bikini Team, producing several calendars and posters, appearing at high end events, and working with charities, such as 911 Help America.
As a seasoned director, writer, producer, and photographer, Jennifer founded The Visual Planet, (Film Development, Production, Photography) a full service production company that develops and shoots projects for agencies, creatives, corporates, and independently. Jennifer co-founded The Barbaro-Gould Foundation, a non-profit organization to support the global exchange of art, music, film, literature, and science.
Jennifer’s photography has graced the walls of locations such as Starbucks, and art galleries, including Laband Art Gallery in Los Angeles, and the prestigious West Gallery of Ruth Eckerd Hall. Jennifer recently opened her own gallery in Clearwater, Florida that hosts monthly events and can be viewed by appointment. Jennifer’s photography awards include her photo, “Freedom” which won first place at the Miami Fotomission Marathon, and recent ribbons at the Audubon Society.
Jennifer is a longtime member of The Screen Actors Guild, The Florida Film Network, and is an activities co-chair for The Greater Belleair Young Women’s Society. Jennifer’s works in progress include, “The Perfect Match” (Director/Producer),”Belloise Brothers Music” (Producer/Director), and “Clotheslines Near & Far,” a photography exhibit exploring cultural perception and celebrating diversity.
